We are home

After over 4,000 km driving, we are now back home. The drive along the west coast to the south was very exhausting because the road conditions were incredibly poor. Nevertheless, the archaeological sites in Rome, Pompeii, and Paestum were very interesting. The beach and pizza in Torre were outstanding. Despite everything, I liked the east coast much better because it was more scenic and much cleaner here. Even the roads, especially the highways, were much more pleasant to drive.

The conclusion at Lake Garda was perfect, as you can then drive through Switzerland in one go. Switzerland is very expensive by our standards. One liter of diesel costs 2 euros, and the restaurants are significantly more expensive than here.
