Early this morning we reach Nesna and cross the Arctic Circle. We then continue to Ørnes and Bodø. Unfortunately, it is foggy and snowing when we enter Ørnes, so we cannot see the special location, which is beautifully situated in front of a mountain wall, in all its beauty. Bodø is the first European Capital of Culture north of the Arctic Circle. The city and the surrounding Nordland region also want to show Europe with more than 1,000 events that they not only have breathtaking Arctic nature, but also an appealing culture. We explore the town on foot, to the church along the fjord. In the evening we reach Stamsund and drive along the Lofoten coast to Svolvaer, the main town in the Lofoten Islands. Svolvaer is located in the northern Norwegian province of Nordland. With 4800 inhabitants, it is the largest town in the Lofoten archipelago. Svolvaer's landmark is the Svolvaergeita rock formation on Mount Floya with two rock peaks 1.80 m apart. Our ship continues to Stokmarknes, Sortland, Risøyhamn.
