From Amed to Padang Bai

So, more than half is behind me and I am still so impressed with every day that I have experienced here.

Yesterday I left Amed and I have to say, I will miss this little fishing village. It was really beautiful there and I enjoyed the two nights very much. What I will not miss is the annoying gecko ;)

The two evenings I spent with Wawan by the pool were also very nice. I taught him German and he taught me Indonesian. However, he became a bit pushy in the end, but I was able to put him in his place. However, I already miss this great daybed where you can laze around all afternoon.

During the bus ride here, I met a nice girl with whom I chatted about everything for the whole two hours. It felt really good. Especially when my girls are sooooo far away.

Now I have arrived in Padang Bai and it is also beautiful here. My hotel is right at the harbor and two wonderful beaches are just a few minutes' walk away.

Today I was at Blue Lagoon Beach, which was really enchanting. Actually, I wanted to snorkel there, but the waves were a bit too high for that. But even if you just go into the water, you can see incredibly many fish. I spent a few relaxed hours there and just enjoyed that I am allowed to experience something like this.

While I was lying on the beach, Whi, a local guy, approached me. We chatted a bit and he asked me about my further plans. I told him that I will move on to Sanur in the near future. He immediately offered to take me there. He doesn't want any money for it, he just wants to improve his English. Somehow this seemed a bit suspicious to me. Out of politeness, I took his phone number and told him that I will contact him if I want to go to Sanur. But I won't do that. Maybe he is really just nice, but maybe not. So today I went out and bought a bus ticket to Sanur. For 5 euros. That way I know for sure that I will arrive.

On the way back, I quickly bought a few things. Anti-mosquito stuff (I can't think of another term for it right now) was at the top of the list. The normal Autan doesn't seem to interest the mosquitoes here at all. That's why I got myself a local miracle weapon. It stinks like hell and it seems to work. I'm sitting outside right now and the mosquitoes are avoiding me.

After I was equipped, I went out to eat in a very cute Warung. However, I have been eating mostly spaghetti in the last few days because I really don't feel like lying flat again.

I took a few more photos of Padang Bai for you.

From here, the boats to the Gili Islands also depart. However, since I am a bit of a scaredy-cat and have already heard many horror stories about the crossing, I have decided to leave that. But that's also the advantage of traveling alone. I don't have to make compromises and can only do what I want. That's why I'm going to Sanur on Saturday and from there, probably to a small island called Nusa Lembongan. The crossing there only takes 30 minutes. Maybe I'll survive that ;)

I'm going to have dinner with a nice Austrian guy I met here and then the day here is almost over.

It's really strange with the time difference. I'm literally living in the future :D
