Nochmal Krüger

Being alone in the camp is one thing, experiencing the storm of your life alone in a tent without electricity and reception is completely different. But the night passed, albeit with little sleep. Today we went on another drive through Kruger National Park. Even before having breakfast there, the alarm went off. Lions had been spotted nearby. We quickly jumped into the car and indeed, we were able to catch sight of a lioness observing her potential breakfast, and not far from her, two juvenile lions also waiting for their breakfast. It had been days since we had seen any lions, so the rain brought something positive with it. Besides the lions, we were able to observe many herds of elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, impalas, hippos, and even buffaloes (now we just need to see the leopard for the big five).

The next morning, a ranger showed me the footprints of the leopard and hyenas that also lived in the camp area during a bushwalk. Luckily, I didn't encounter them in the dark. Afterwards, I started the journey back. Due to poor visibility, we didn't go to the Blyde River Canyon and went directly back to Johannesburg. But only for one night, because the next morning we continue to Port Elizabeth.
