Being able to experience the many 'first times' of the kids is something very special for me and a reason why I enjoy working here as an AuPair:)
On October 30th, Halloween is also celebrated here and many children go from house to house to ask for candy. Just like me in the past, Harry also wanted to participate in the spooky fun, so I went with him to find a suitable costume. Of course, he chose a dinosaur onesie and I got some cat ears - not really scary, but he was happy!:)
I explained to him how the 'trick or treat' thing works and he was very excited in the evening and was allowed to stay up later, until we set off. Well, actually we just walked up and down the street and he always held my hand after we knocked on the door and waited. Harry was super excited and anyone who chose 'treat' first got a dinosaur 'RAAAHH' roared at them by him ;)
In the end, he was very proud of the many candies he had collected and I was proud to have spent his first Halloween with him:)
Another 'first time' of Harry's that I was able to be a part of was writing his first Christmas letter to Santa, with all his wishes! We spread out all our craft supplies on the living room table and while he took care of the decorations (including a picture of Harry, so Santa knows what he looks like), I wrote down the many things he wants from Santa.
Among them are:
- New books (he already has hundreds!)
- Glitter tape, like the one Mona has for crafting
- A skunk toy
- Bath fizzies
- New pens
And many more!
He proudly attached the letter to the fridge with magnets so Santa will definitely see it:)
