After thinking that after sixty-six entries I could consider myself a member of the hobby blogger family, I recently decided to take a look at the ranking of the best blogs on my main website. Quickly realizing that typical travel blogs and my stories differ greatly in their writing style and message, I decided to create this post similar to other supposedly like-minded authors on this platform, just to try something different:

Today we woke up and it was raining. That was a bit strange because we had planned to go hiking and take lots of great photos. Unfortunately, we can't show you those photos because we didn't take them. Instead, we found a cafe and surfed the internet. Gudi sent out a few job applications and I tried to plan my upcoming semester at university. Since we needed the internet for a long time, we drank a lot of coffee. So it wasn't very cheap, but at least it was warm. Then we met up with Michi. We went river surfing. Well, he did, because I didn't have a wetsuit and the water was very cold. In the evening, we went to the cinema, had beer and cookies, and watched a movie about arms smuggling in English. Then ...

****If I were writing on a typewriter, this would be the moment to rip out the page and crumple it up****

But even on the laptop, I take back all my plans, I don't want to continue writing in this tone anymore, as my face, humor, and soon my fingers are falling asleep. As I have to realize, my writing style is a bit more extravagant than the one used in various other travel blogs that are accessible to me. For the sake of completeness, however, I should mention that I have only browsed through some of the travel blogs on this website, but not the vastness of the internet in search of blogs with which I could identify. Additionally, I don't want to badmouth any of my "colleagues" or highlight myself as better or more individual. But it should be emphasized that I don't see myself as a blogger (if I know their function). Rather, I am driven by the intention to capture as many impressions of our journey as possible - in a format that I might actually read again later. However, it is very important to me to highlight the small aspects and interpersonal subtleties of our everyday life as well as various destinations and activities. As I try to perceive life with a sense of humor, it is essential, in my opinion, to describe our experiences as vividly, tactfully provocative, and primarily entertaining or captivating.

After all, the joy of the matter and the many positive feedbacks have now - as I have to my surprise realized - not only triggered my achievement of finally continuing something in my life for a longer period of time. I was also - probably primarily due to the high number of articles - classified as the fourth best author on the (admittedly very small) website à with a tendency to increase. Gudi's laughing comment: Self-praise stinks! ... well not only self-praise stinks, it's time for us to take a shower again!

Gudi's glorious laws:

-

Consciously, a hyphen adorns the line in which one of Gudi's wisdom should be. I actually wanted to formulate an opinion or limitation of Gudi's about my writing, but I have to realize more and more that she gives me a free hand (or rather fingers). It is probably not just me who has noticed that my (travel) partner often becomes the center of various jokes and that I sometimes portray her in a less flattering light. Nevertheless, she almost always allows me to update my articles without restriction, because she can laugh at herself as well. This is a characteristic that I immensely appreciate in her and for which she deserves a big thank you at this point.
