Since Wednesday I've been in Chiang Mai. When I arrived at the train station, I went straight to the hostel. Well, it was supposed to be a hotel but it was quite run down... Anyway, I had only booked for 2 nights... At least that was the plan.
In the evening, I went to have dinner...
I had coconut soup and stir-fried chicken with lots of garlic. The soup was labeled with a mild level of spiciness.. BUT holy moly, it blew my mind... It was so damn spicy, I could only eat half of it.. I devoured the rice from the 2nd dish 😂
Afterwards, my stomach was rumbling, it burned three times, I thought. So, I went to the room and rested 😇
On Thursday morning, I took a walk around the city. I had the idea of changing the hostel and planning the next two days for activities. So, I went to a bar to plan everything. The hostel was quickly found. It was supposed to be a sleep cabin in the middle of the city at Night Bazaar for 3 days. On Friday, I booked a day at an elephant farm including a jungle hike and on Saturday, I will go to a cooking school for half a day.
Originally, I wanted to book everything at the tourist information at the train station, but the good man was sleeping on the counter at noon 11:30 and I found it rude to wake him up at such an ungodly hour. So, I booked it myself via internet and email contact. I hope it works out.
The Thais... In Chiang Mai, I saw so many people sleeping in their shops when there are no customers or like yesterday, when I arrived and was on the way to the hotel. One guy was sleeping on the sidewalk next to his moped because it was raining 😂😂
I'm really excited about the trips. In any case, I'm going to the Night Bazaar today and as luck would have it, I live right on the bar street and I didn't even plan it that way.
...But once I'm here... 😂
Oh, by the way, I'm definitely going to visit the big temples in Chiang Mai and the ancient city walls. 😉
