Day 31-42.

Conil is the name of the small town where we will spend the next 9 days with Chris' family.

Before the rest of the family from Seville arrives, Chris stocks up on new fishing equipment. In the small fishing shop, the salesperson doesn't speak English and we play language ping-pong, alternating between Chris-Eva-salesperson-Eva-Chris. It's a colorful mix of Spanish, English, French and even Russian. In the end, Chris gets his new fishing equipment and we move on to Aldi. There's a big shopping trip for 7 adults and 5 children. We spend a full 1.5 hours running from one aisle to the next, groaning with 3(!!!) full shopping carts to the checkout.💪🏋️

We share a holiday home with Chris' sisters and their kids, although apartment is really an understatement. The house is great and the kitchen lacks nothing. We finally sleep in a bed again, a dream made of down. The icing on the cake is our own pool, which the kids have already inaugurated when we arrive with 17 bags of shopping.

We spend the week at the beach, pool, a trip to the neighboring beach, pool, a trip to the dune with beach, pool, a trip to the city beach and yes, pool. 🏊 It's wonderful! We cook lunch and dinner and also fire up the in-house grill station. We all agree. This is a real vacation!

After initially feeling overwhelmed by the sudden presence of so many people, Lore is excited about the hustle and bustle. Her cousins entertain her and Grandma and Grandpa take over from time to time between the other four grandchildren, so that after four weeks of packing, unpacking, moving and putting away, we finally manage to have some relaxing moments with a cold drink in hand.

To round off the family tour, we spend two more days in Seville with Saskia and her family. The heat of the city knocks us completely over the head and Eva's small summer cold unfortunately makes the heat even harder to bear. We push our way across the hot (but really beautiful!) Plaza de España with a few other tourists, enjoy a few tapas in a winding alley and before the afternoon heat knocks us down on the concrete, we get an ice cream and rush back to Saskia's air-conditioned house.

There is a hint of melancholy as we finally set off on our journey alone. We really enjoyed the days with the family, even with 5 children, one of whom was always crying. But that's family life and we are ready for our small family on four wheels again.

On the outskirts of Seville, we equip ourselves with a new beach tent at the local Decathlon (we gave up on the first one long ago) and head on to Portugal. Next stop: always along the coast.🌞
