Stage 12 Vila Ch├г тАФ> Lisbon 339 KM (Total 3243KM)
You can see from our WW that he has already traveled over 3,000 KM and almost 6 weeks, so before we set off, he gets a quick wash.
The Lisboa campsite is located in a green spot, conveniently located in the city and only 8 KM as the crow flies from the center. The approach is already very tricky in this big city, so we drive with 2 navigation systems (car and Google) just to be safe. Still, we almost miss the exit, which is right behind another feeder road.
We are relieved when we arrive, check in, and for the first time we see a security service at a campsite - we suspect that they are not there for no reason. Our pitch has everything a modern camper needs, electricity, water, and sewage, and it is close to the sanitary facilities.
The next day we take the bus to the center at noon and explore the city. Tuc-Tuc drivers offer a tour of the top attractions and apparently they have formed a cartel when it comes to pricing ЁЯдФ - each one offers a 1-hour tour for a whopping тВм50.
At a pedestrian crossing, we spontaneously talk to a Tuc-Tuc driver and negotiate an acceptable price with her. She is very nice and shows us the most beautiful spots in Lisbon - even those where the streets are so narrow that buses can't reach them.
Afterwards, we book a 24-hour card with Yellow-Tours for the Red Tram and complete the entire route. Riding the tram in Lisbon is truly an experience, it goes in old open wagons, sometimes passing by the old buildings very closely, uphill and downhill.
After dinner, we don't feel like taking the bus - we would have to walk about 1.5 KM to the bus stop, wait for the bus, and then drive about 40 minutes to the destination. While looking for an alternative, we come across Uber - we have never used this service before and want to try it out spontaneously. We download the app, set up the account, and enter the destination. We can hardly believe it, our Uber taxi is there within 2 minutes! The car is clean, the driver is very nice, and we reach the destination in 20 minutes ЁЯСН. We then made the following trips with our newly discovered means of transport because the price difference to a bus ride is less than тВм5 and it also saves us a lot of time. The fastest driver was there in 30 seconds ЁЯШК!
The next morning we ride our ЁЯЪ▓ into the center - although we were advised not to ride bikes in Lisbon, it works very well thanks to our bike app - you just have to watch out for the tram tracks. We park our ЁЯЪ▓ in a central square by the Tejo River and ride our 24-hour tram card. We get off in the old town and sit in a caf├й with a fantastic view of the old town.
In the evening, we have something delicious from the WW kitchen and we also use our grill again after 4 weeks.
The next day is all about resting and doing a big wash. In the evening, we dive into the nightlife of Lisbon and it gets very late - we decide to extend our stay in Lisbon for another 2 nights.
Overnight, we independently change our minds ЁЯШВ - we now feel like peace, beach, and sea, and we set off for our next destination in the afternoon ЁЯШКЁЯШЙ.
Our conclusion: Lisbon is a very special city and definitely worth several trips.
