Mornington Peninsula with Trish

Today we took a one-hour trip out of the city to Trish's place in Mornington Peninsula (that's what the region is called). We met Trish and her husband Ed through our 'Navi friend' Vaughan in Darwin. It was important for Trish to show us around her neighborhood. Currently, it's summer vacation, so Trish still has time off as a teacher.

We took the train to Frankston, where Trish picked us up from the train station. We drove along the coast to the Eagle. The Eagle is a cable car that we know from skiing and hiking areas. We drove up the mountain by car and had a fantastic view. Then we passed some farms and vineyards to Flinders, a nice little town. The region reminds us a lot of home, just a bit bigger. From there, we went to Trish's house, where she showed us around and we met her youngest son (22 years old), who will start his studies at the University of Melbourne after the summer vacation. Trish has four sons and recently became a grandmother for the first time. After a refreshing break, we drove another 40km to Sorrento. Most of the drive was along the coast, where there are many luxury properties. When we arrived in Sorrento, we sat on the beach and enjoyed fresh cherries and strawberries before taking a stroll along the beach/in the water. In the afternoon, Trish took us back to the train station in Frankston. We are very grateful to her for this trip and hopefully we will see each other again soon (in Europe). We also received some great travel tips for our upcoming road trip.
