We are back in Dresden since Tuesday and getting back into our everyday routine. We are still battling with piles of laundry and have our hands full.
We often talk about emigrating and are already making plans for our next big trip. Now it's time for a bit of statistics and a little evaluation.
# What was the best part of our trip?
The most beautiful part was that we had a lot of quality time together as a family. It brought us closer and enriched all of us. Of course, there were also times when we were annoyed with each other. But especially towards the end, we enjoyed every minute together.
# What was the highlight of the trip?
Hard to say! Somehow everything had its beautiful sides. The national parks, Dubrovnik, Trogir were impressive. At the end in Cres, we just felt really comfortable.
# What was the lowest point?
The day before Dubrovnik, when we realized that our baby carrier was still in Šibenik. The weather didn't want to get better and then the pointless extra driving. That was just not a good day.
# What would we do differently next time?
Actually not much. The trip was great, just the way it was. Maybe we would spend less time in Istria and more days on the islands.
# Croatia, a recommendation?
Definitely! The people are very friendly and fond of children. Almost everyone speaks good German. We were also not worried about our health at any time. Everything was clean, the food was great, and we didn't have any problems at all. The nature is beautiful, the cities worth seeing, and the water crystal clear. We were both consistently positively surprised by this beautiful country and will definitely come back soon!
# How much did the vacation cost us?
We were on the road for 30 days, drove 4570 km by car (with and without our caravan), and spent around 87 hours in the car.
For that, we spent almost exactly 4000 euros. That is actually very cheap, especially when you consider that we ate out at least once every day and were not exactly thrifty! We invested almost 60 euros of that in ice cream. :)
Thanks at this point to Karen, Rainer H., Dörthe & Rainer D. for allowing us to use your caravan!!! That was incredibly kind.
