The window, Baja California

18.4. While Amelia is packing, I will go get our rental car. After that, we will drive about 2.5 hours to La Ventana to the northeast. Baja California is very dry and reminiscent of the deserts in the USA with lots of cacti. Our accommodation is simple but nice, with an open-air kitchen and shared bathroom. Since we are the only guests, we can use all areas exclusively. We search for a diving center and find one. But they tell us that the wind is too strong to dive well. We believe them, not least because of the many kite surfers, and decide to skip diving in La Ventana. While having a beer at the local microbrewery, we discover the yoga studio and decide to go there tomorrow. We have Mariscos for dinner, the best garlic grilled shrimp I have ever had! 19.4. After breakfast, we practice yoga! Our yoga teacher is originally from the Czech Republic but alternates between living in Mexico and the USA. Yin Yoga is very relaxing and stretches the body without any effort in positions that you hold for three minutes. We feel very relaxed and want to have lunch on the beach. Unfortunately, the restaurant is closed, so we change the location to still enjoy the shade while looking out over the sea and reading. Later, we occupy the hammocks in our courtyard and call it a day. 20.4. Vinyasa Yoga is on the agenda today. The sequences are fast, diverse, and require a lot of strength, but we persevere and treat ourselves to a coffee below the yoga terrace afterwards. We spend the whole day in the courtyard of our hostel and enjoy a very tasty pizza for dinner. Once again, drinking wine is a pleasure.
