On our way to the desert, we made several stops at small shops to look at fossils and also to buy some beautiful specimens. These, which can usually only be admired in museums, are available here in abundance for sale. Impressed by the fine craftsmanship that is being done here, and by the various Megalodon teeth to complete dinosaur skeletons that can be purchased here, we continued our journey to the sand dunes with the goal of spending the night at a lovely spot. When we arrived and were already preparing for the upcoming barbecue, the wind steadily grew stronger and the sand swirled around us. Just before the sandstorm reached its peak, we had already packed everything up and drove back with only a few meters of visibility. Suddenly, it started to rain, an event that, according to locals, had not happened in 10 years. We saw children running joyfully through the streets. On our way to a hotel in the city, a power line broke, and the resulting power outage lasted all night. Fortunately, we reached the only hotel with a generator and quickly fled inside.
