The included hostel breakfast is as usual sparse. At least there's a low-fat peach yogurt with the jam roll.
I'm moving to Rafa's House hostel, a bit outside but much cheaper. Then I'm going to check out at least 30 travel agencies. Stressful. Most of them offer more or less the same and they look more or less trustworthy. The problem with San Pedro is that many of the more spectacular attractions are at least 50km away, so you have to rely on a rental car or travel agency.
For lunch, I'm going to La Picá de Regalon, a street restaurant on the outskirts of town that offers affordable lunch menus compared to the otherwise quite expensive San Pedro. The selection of vegetarian options is modest. In the end, I get served Asian-style spaghetti with pumpkin and I'm positively surprised.
In the evening, I walk along the country road to Valle de la Muerte (Death Valley, also known as Mars Valley). It hasn't been open since the pandemic, but you can still hike inside. I'm greeted by narrow valleys of reddish rock with salt ponds in the middle.
