My last trip to Colombia was canceled due to bad weather when we first arrived three days after planning in Cartagena. Also was I directly the next day after the arrival in the bus planned.
Normally I would, although I am sometimes an absolute bus expert, not turn such a long distance in one direction. But due to travel and my desire to catch Pipi at Flughafen personally, I have decided to do so.
Although it stuck, the idea was of course not particularly brilliant. According to Google Maps the journey takes 18 hours, but actually I am arriving in Bogota after 28 hours. There was just a break and the bus driver didn't move either. Quite beautiful wild. I also spent more than a whole day driving from the Colombian coast down to the center (640 km) , during the Pipis drive from Vienna to Bogota in just 23 hours (9600 km) including a 6-day hike.
But hey, everywhere Colombian long-distance buses are more popular than Flix buses in Europe. There's screen, WLAN, air conditioning and keepable sheets - what's that already 10 hours more or less?
In the end I just arranged to catch Pipi at 4am at the airport. It was nice to be in the arms again. In the two days we were in Bogota, we didn't see much though - we were both tired of our trips.

My last trip to Colombia was delayed due to bad weather, which led to us arriving in Cartagena three days later than planned. So, directly the day after I arrived, I got on the bus, although I don’t normally do such long journeys all at once. But due to the delay and my desire to meet Pipi at the airport personally, I decided to do it anyway.
Although it worked, the idea wasn't especially brilliant. According to Google Maps, the journey lasts 18 hours, but I ended up arriving in Bogota after 28 hours. There was only one stop and the bus driver did not change. It was pretty wild. So I was over a full day traveling from the Colombian coast to the center (640 km), while the Pipi journey from Vienna to Bogota only lasted 23 hours (9600 km), including a 6 hour delay.
But hey, at least long distance buses in Colombia are much more comfortable than Flixbus ones in Europe. Here there are screens, WiFi, air conditioning and reclining seats - so do you care about 10 more hours of travel?
In the end, I barely managed to meet Pipi at 4am at the airport. It was so nice to hug him again. In the two days we were in Bogotá, we didn't see much - we were both exhausted from our travels.
