In Krabi, I did not stay like all other tourists somewhere on the beach, but in a very cheap hostel in Krabi Town. I only stayed for two nights anyway and wanted to rent a scooter again, so that was perfectly sufficient for me.
Not being on the beach and among the tourists, of course, had some advantages again. Not far from my hostel, there was a great market every evening, where you could get a very cheap dinner again. The market ladies made me very happy with my fried rice chicken and an egg in the shape of a heart:).
Once again, I explored everything on the scooter and when you're in Krabi, you want to go to the beach, of course. The roads in Krabi are great and the landscape you drive past is beautiful. My first destination was Ao Nang Beach. I honestly can't understand why it is so praised. After sitting on the beach for a while, I decided that since I was already in Krabi, I would take one of the famous longtail boats and go to the most famous beach in Krabi, Railay Beach.
The beach located in a beautiful bay really surprised me. It is beautiful and framed by very pretty limestone cliffs. I had imagined a mega touristy and overcrowded beach! But Railay Beach is worth it. Of course, there are many tourists there, but most of them are lying by the pools in their hotels and the beach is also so long that everything is well spread out. However, I was there during the rainy season! Who knows what it's like in high season. So I enjoyed a few hours on the beach before taking the boat back to Ao Nang Beach and then taking the scooter back to Krabi Town.
Then it was time to pack the backpack again and move on to discover the next country - Malaysia.
