Of waterfalls, oxen and oversized shrimps

Servus, griasde and czesc,

we hope you are doing well! The past few days have been filled with adventures and unexpected beautiful and amusing moments.

We visited the Dorrigo National Park, among other places, with the Tristania and the Crystal Shower Falls. Two very beautiful waterfalls amidst 300-year-old trees, ferns, and strangler figs. The park is part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

At a free campground near Grafton, we couldn't believe our eyes when we opened the door of the camper in the morning. We were in the middle of a large herd of oxen, calmly grazing shortly after sunrise. One of the animals invited itself to breakfast, but also helped us with the dishes. ;-)

Past Evans Head, Ballina with its 'Big Prawn' and Lismore with its colorful graffiti, we went to Nimbin. Nimbin is the 'hippie' town of Australia. Stores like 'Hemp Embassy & Hemp Bar', 'Tribal Magic', and 'Happy High Herbs' are completely normal here.

We were particularly impressed by the 5.5 meter high, 20-ton smoke quartz geodes from Uruguay at the Crystal Castle & Shambhala Gardens in Mullumbimby. After a meditation session in the 'Peace Room', we were deeply relaxed for the days to come... or weeks. :-)

After further stops in Byron Bay and New Brighton, we enjoyed the paw paw (papaya) breakfast at South Byron Beach and continued our journey towards Brisbane after a swim in the 1 meter high waves.

We send you sunny greetings from the 30°C warm New South Wales and look forward to you following our upcoming adventures in Brisbane.

Warm regards,

Vroni & Maria
