G'day!
I promised you that I would get in touch when we got home. So that's what I'm doing here.
We drove Baltra from Puerto Ayora to Santa Cruz.
First by car, then by ferry, then by bus. From there we took a plane to Guyaquil on the Ecuadorian mainland.
After half a night in the hotel there, we continued via Panama and New York to Frankfurt.
The last of the flights was with Lufthansa and when we told the flight attendant that this was our last leg of a five-month journey, she actually gave us something. As reminder. Nice, right?
The next morning we returned home from Frankfurt in a rental car. It was strange to be back in Germany after such a long time.
By the way, my oldest actually gave me a bath! So that my fur becomes nice and white again. Imagine, I was really in the water. With getting wet and stuff like that. And it was surprisingly pleasant. Nice and warm... And foamy...
Then she rubbed me dry and wrapped me up nice and warm. Look, it looks like a bathrobe.
Afterwards I was able to lie down comfortably to dry off.
Marty the cat happily welcomed us home and there were even some beautiful spring flowers from the friend who looked after our house and Marty while we were out and about.
Now we're trying to settle in here again. It all still takes a bit of getting used to. Especially the gray sky, the seemingly missing colors and the temperatures. I don't get cold so easily because of my fur. But my older ones seem like they would prefer it if it were a few degrees more.
We're definitely looking forward to meeting lots of nice people again that we haven't seen for a long time.
Thank you for reading diligently here and who knows, maybe we'll see each other soon.
Greetings from Travis, the freshly bathed Buddy Bear
