Hoi An / Vietnam

In the afternoon we took the free hotel shuttle to Hoi An, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The city has an incredibly charming flair - especially at night. Millions of lanterns light up the old, cute streets and small, old gondola boats sail on the big river.

Unfortunately, we had a little bad luck here too ... Hoi An was also hit by a strong typhoon two weeks earlier and was completely submerged. Even when we arrived, it was immediately noticeable that Hoi An is still suffering. In the restaurants, you could see watermarks on the walls at a height of 2 meters, most of the furniture was rotten, the bridges over the river were flooded with water, and the side streets were still under water due to the high water level.

Nevertheless, even though we couldn't fully enjoy it due to the extensive damage, we really liked this little town!

In the evening, we even bought a water lantern, which is a traditional item, and set it on the river - by the way, you are allowed to make a wish while doing so 😊

In one of the many cozy, charming cafés, we spent a cozy evening.
