From the scenery and city perspective, Brisbane is not as beautiful as Melbourne or Sydney, especially since it lacks a beach - but we still had very eventful and cool days here!
On the first day, we met up with Andy, whom we had already met on the Gold Coast. He also brought three friends along and knew Brisbane quite well, so we got our own private little city tour 😀 We took a free city ferry along the river and got off in the city center. From there, we went to a kind of animal museum with both live and stuffed animals from all over Australia! It was really exciting to see so many animals here that we didn't even know existed 😀 We also visited an art museum (we were really on a cultural trip hahaha...
Okay, enough culture. We explored the city, visited the botanical garden at night, the 'Man Made Beach' (a beach-like swimming pool), and went to the Light Forest. The Light Forest was my absolute favorite! After the little exploration tour, we were invited to the guys' apartment and spent the rest of the evening there.
The next day, we took the ferry back to the city to check out the famous 'Culture King', which unfortunately only exists in Australia. It was amazing!!! A three-story store with thousands of awesome sneakers, branded clothes that can't be found anywhere else, watches, glasses, etc... The layout of the store alone was genius! The stairs were lit up in all colors, there was a live DJ playing music, a small barbershop had its five chairs in the middle of the store, and the shoes stretched 10 meters high... simply unbelievable 😀 Then we went back to the botanical garden during the day - really beautiful!!
However, Tuesday was probably our best day in Brisbane despite everything! We went to the Koala Sanctuary 😍 It was so so so so so indescribable to hold a koala on our arms!!! We both had a big smile on our faces the whole time 😀 The smile didn't even stop when we sat among 20 kangaroos, who were all very friendly! We also watched a bird of prey and owl flight show and saw a sheepdog herding sheep 😀 The evening continued to be very animal-oriented: we walked back to the botanical garden, found a dark spot, and sat in the grass with a lot of patience for 20 minutes until finally (!!!) two possums came, allowing us to feed them! That was really cool too, because these animals are normally very scared and usually get scared away by humans, so we were really happy to see how they started to trust us more and more every minute 😊
So it was truly 3 amazing days in Brisbane even though the city itself wasn't that stunning 😀
