Today we are going to the Gippsland Lakes, a network of lakes and lagoons in the east of Gippsland. They cover approximately 600 sq km. Near Loch Sport, we want to visit a part of it in Lakes National Park.
The lake is huge and beautiful. However, not very deep. You can walk far into the lake. The lake network is so vast that you can't really grasp it from the ground. So we are going to have a relaxed afternoon. While one person tries to catch a fish, the other person enjoys the scenery.
We consider staying at the lake, but continue to Golden Beach and enjoy the big waves and the warm beach. By the way, the sand at Golden Beach also squeaks. Just above the beach there is a free camping area, which we claim and spend the night there.
