Rainy day in Palau

Oñemoherakuãva: 13.10.2022

We had planned to go hiking to Bear Rock today. The weather forecast wasn't great, but in the past few days, even when rain was predicted, it was still quite nice.

When we wanted to start our hike, it was raining heavily, so we decided to wait. The forecast got worse and the rain didn't want to stop at first.

When it finally stopped raining, we decided to take a walk through the town and visit the tourist information instead. It took us about fifteen minutes to walk there from our hotel. Along the way, we stopped by some shops. In one of them, we ended up standing at the entrance for a while because it started raining heavily.

By the time we arrived at the tourist information, we were completely soaked. When we asked if there was anything to do in Palau that is not outdoors, the nice lady said that there are mainly beautiful beaches here. We had already visited the only museum in town, so we went back to the hotel in the rain to dry our things.

In the afternoon, it was dry again, so we ventured outside once more to explore the 'Il Tartafone' nature park.

Park 'Il Tartafone'

We had seen the park from the bus the day before and found it again on our new map from the tourist information.

Park 'Il Tartafone'

The park had some cliffs that we could climb and from which we had a beautiful view of the town.

At the very top, there was even a summit cross with a view of the water.

After the park tour, we went back to the hotel.
