Our cruise to Scotland, Iceland and Greenland started in Hamburg, where we arrived by four different public transportations: First, we took the bus to the train station and from there by train to Hamburg main station, which we reached without delay and unplanned changes. The S-Bahn then took us to the Landungsbrücken, where we boarded a HVV ferry to travel across the water to the Altona cruise terminal.
The AIDAaura was already there, ready to set sail. After check-in, we made ourselves comfortable in the bar with a coffee, as our cabin was not yet ready.
Unfortunately, the Hamburg pilot was not able to disembark after the ship left. So he had to accompany us until the first port of Invergordon.
We got a first impression of the ship during a ship tour, where all the important areas of the ship (especially bars and restaurants) were shown to us.
We spent the first evening with live music and games in the Anytime Bar overlooking the sea.
The second day was a sea day, during which we sailed across the North Sea towards Scotland.
At first, the weather was rather cool, windy, and cloudy, but it later cleared up, and the view of the sea was framed by a blue sky.
Onboard, we passed the time with food, sports, a lecture about Invergordon, dance class, and evening shows.
