Hamilton Gardens 2.0

Oñemoherakuãva: 15.10.2017

I have been alone for the last two days and really enjoyed it. It's great to just fulfill your own wishes and ideas for the day.

Yesterday I visited various parks and Lake Rotoroa and just strolled through the city.

This morning I went back to visit the Hamilton Gardens for a second time. Unfortunately, the first time I only saw a normal park instead of the actual gardens.

Now I understand why everyone says you should go there. The Hamilton Gardens are stunningly beautiful. There are different gardens, modern, Chinese, Italian,...

I also saw a kind of flash mob of Asians there.

Afterwards, I went to the Waikato Museum. This museum exhibited a lot, from WW1 to sculptures and modern paintings.

I liked it and the visit was definitely worth it.

On the way back to the accommodation, I passed by ArtsPost and spontaneously went in.

The gallery was also great. I really feel like standing in front of a canvas and painting something. The problem is that mine wouldn't look nearly as good. 🤷‍♀️😁

I now like Hamilton more than a week ago. I especially like all the graffiti, the shopping center, and the many parks along the river.

Accommodation here takes some getting used to. There are also mixed showers and toilets here and I haven't seen any man washing their hands after using the bathroom 😉

However, I like hostel life. You get to meet so many new people, although most of them just sit around in the common room all day. But tomorrow I'm checking out again. 😊 Hostel life is like a school trip, only better, without quiet hours and without any stupid excursions and stuff. 😁

A week in Hamilton is enough.

Hamilton was great though, as I met really cool people here from India, Sweden, France, Argentina, China, Korea, New Zealand, and of course Germany. 😁
