Auf nach Hause

Today we want to start our long journey home. While we sit comfortably in front of our camper van with our coffee in hand, our plan to go back home gets shaken again. It's just so beautiful here.

But then we decide that we want to spend a few more days at home before we have to go back to work. The weather forecast for Augsburg is the deciding factor for going back home. It's supposed to be sunny on Wednesday.

So we pack everything up and check out. We're going to have breakfast with croissants and baguette during the drive. Leaving the campsite is really hard for us. We really liked it here. We will definitely come back.

After refueling once more, we finally start. The navigation system shows 920 km and nearly 10 hours of travel time. The first hour we drive through the mountains with many small villages and narrow streets, vineyards and olive trees.

Then we're back at the sea and on the highway. We handle the toll stations quite easily by now. In Switzerland, it starts raining really hard, but that passes quickly too. Basti doesn't like the San Bernardino Pass, so we take a break before the tunnel, just to be on the safe side. We take turns driving and actually make good progress.

As we cross the border into Germany, we order something to eat on our phone. We definitely need to have something proper to eat, even if it's already 10 PM.

At half past 9, tired but happy, we drive into our courtyard. As we unload, the food delivery arrives. We end the evening on the couch with spring rolls and Thai curry. What a great vacation. But we're also really happy to be able to fall into our own big bed now.
