Malacca

Hello from Malacca,
On the last day on Tioman Island, after a hearty breakfast on the beach, we discovered another waterfall. But first, we had to hike up a steep path in the middle of the jungle. But the effort was worth it when we reached the top and were rewarded with a refreshing swim in the waterfall. Once back, we rented snorkeling equipment to explore the reef right on our beach. The reef was so beautiful with its colorful corals, fish, sea cucumbers, and jellyfish that even Matthias enjoyed snorkeling. We even saw several Nemo fish in the reef ;) After a satisfying dinner, we started planning for the next day and were dismayed to find out that there was only one ferry to the mainland at 7 a.m. However, our landlady arranged for a 4x4 vehicle at 5:30 a.m., which took us back to the other end of the island. Upon arriving back in Mersing, we organized bus tickets to Malacca and also booked accommodation there. After a bumpy 5-hour bus ride and a taxi ride, we were able to check into our double-decker room in the city center (bed on top, sofa on the bottom). In the evening, we went for Satay dinner, which can be compared to a little bit of fondue. You choose skewers from a display and can cook them right at your table in your own pot filled with a spicy sauce. After 30 skewers, our hunger was satisfied, and after a walk along the illuminated river, our day came to an end.
See you later,
Malia :D
