We spent the first night in Bali well. After meeting with our cousin and her family yesterday, we went for a quick swim and watched a movie on the laptop. Then we fell asleep exhausted and slept until 9 o'clock. Catching up on the 12 hours of sleep really did me good after the flight stress. After getting up and freshening up, we went for breakfast first. We sat on a beautiful rooftop terrace and looked out over the jungle and the hotel grounds. For breakfast, there were delicious fresh fruits, an Indonesian fish curry, and a pancake, as well as traditional black tea and a watermelon drink. The breakfast was very delicious and after one last swim in our own pool, we already checked out because we are going to another hotel today. Unfortunately, check-in there is only at 2 o'clock, so we leave our luggage with our cousin. We had already arranged for a driver to take us to the jungle at 2 o'clock. It was about 1.5 hours away, near Ubud. When we arrived there, we were greeted with a cold drink, and then we were already given rubber boots and a helmet, so the adventure could begin. Together with a driver, the three of us drove through the jungle. The route led along rice fields, small villages, and the jungle. The ride was very adventurous, especially in the jungle. We even drove part of the way through a small rushing river, which was the most fun. During the tour, we not only had a lot of fun but also saw the country and its people. After about 2 hours, the quad tour ended, and a small Indonesian buffet awaited us.
After we arrived back in Sanur, we checked into our new hotel first. It is beautiful, and we feel very comfortable. After freshening up briefly, we met again with our cousin and her family to have dinner together. This time we all had a delicious pizza, and for dessert, we even had a fried banana with vanilla ice cream. After eating and drinking, we decided to have a small drink in our cousin's bungalow. We laughed, talked, and made more plans for the next few days. It was a lovely evening, and around half past midnight, we already made our way back to our hotel. It was a beautiful day in Bali, and we are very much looking forward to the days to come.
