We arrived back in Alice Springs. We had lunch by the pool and cooked dinner together with the leftovers. We had calculated the food pretty well.
The next day it was time to say goodbye. We had our last meal together at McDonald's. Then Lena, Jesús, and Jagoda headed towards Adelaide. Jing, another Chinese girl named Viee, Timon, and I headed towards Cairns. The farewell was sad, I had really grown fond of the others.
During the trip, we almost lost our muffler on the exhaust. It was already hanging down. We visited a mechanic, but he could only fix it the next day. So we decided to drive to Cairns with our new sports car in this condition.
Then to the Mary Kathleen Mines. There was a beautiful lake there. Then to the Chinaman Creek Dam, where we ate and went for a swim.
In Normanton, we refueled and had lunch at a restaurant. There was also a statue of a huge crocodile. Later in Georgetown, we went to a public swimming pool. The Chinese girls didn't want to swim and suddenly disappeared. Timon and I thought that maybe we were abandoned here. Eventually, they reappeared.
We camped again on the road. We survived our last night in the tent. The closer we got to Cairns, the greener it became. It actually looked like Germany. All the forests and meadows. I even got an upgrade to a 4-bed room in my hostel. In the city, I found a night market with many Asian dishes. I quickly went shopping for snacks and went to bed early.
