Since yesterday I am no longer on tour alone 😊

Now Laura, a friend from Gießen, is with me. I am very happy about that, because traveling alone for a long time is not so pleasant...

After taking it easy yesterday, we only went to China Town, today we were very adventurous. Since we have both already seen the main attractions in the city, we first took the water taxi upstream in the morning to explore this area. When we saw a beautiful large temple (Wat Soi Thong), we decided to get off there. This place seems to be visited exclusively by locals, because tourists are nowhere to be found here. Nevertheless, we were allowed to look around everywhere and even go inside the temple. So we were able to admire a temple outside the tourist hustle and bustle.

The next destination was the amulet market. There we found winding alleys with one stall after another. In addition to amulets and jewelry, you can also find all sorts of carvings and figures (Buddha, elephants and co.) made of different materials here.

In the late afternoon we finally went to a completely different corner of Bangkok, to the MBK Center. This is one of the largest shopping centers in Bangkok. In addition to small stalls in the basement that remind you of a market, there are 'normal' shopping opportunities in the other floors. At first it reminded me of Karstadt/Kaufhof. In general, the surrounding area was characterized by 'normal' shops like H&M and co.

After a visit to the night market, we only went back towards the hostel, where we rounded off the day with a delicious meal on the street.

Tomorrow we are going to Ayutthaya.
