My life just did a 180 last week. I blinked once and suddenly I was no longer a student but working in an office. And then my best friends flew away and left me 2 happy brownies, which I've been trying to eat for a week now (even one bite hits like a rock). And then a day later an important person in my family was no longer there. And now we are here. Now to make it easier to understand: my semester ended last week and I sent the last essay on Tuesday. On Wednesday my friends flew back to Mexico. We still write a lot, but of course it's not the same. On Wednesday morning I was at one of the first events of my internship, a really official meeting at the EU delegation in Colombia. Some dumbass let me in there with sneakers. I was so painfully underdressed next to all the dudes in suits. But it was definitely very interesting. I love stuff like that. Don't be underdressed, but rather have completely new experiences and get to know contexts through work. It was near a market where you can buy a lot of artesanías, handmade jewelry and stuff like that. There I bought farewell gifts for my babies and then we said goodbye in the evening. That was very ouch. The next morning I went to another event, it was about indigenous people in the Guajira region of Colombia. That was very, very great. I was there for almost 9 hours. There are days that feel like you'll never be the same again. Because so much learning has happened. That evening I had a meeting with my uncle, who was in town for 2 days. At around 5:30 p.m. I made my way to the shopping center where we had arranged to meet. However, I only had 5% battery and no internet anymore. And I urgently had to go to the toilet. When I realized at some point that my cell phone wouldn't last there (because of course I had to listen to music), I wrote down my uncle's number (with my last 2%) on a scrap of paper. Luckily I had a pen with me. And a scrap of paper. Then I arrived at some point, my phone was already off, and I went to the toilet first, but the women's toilet was being cleaned, so I went to the men's toilet and then I got in trouble, but it was worth it because I shouldn't have Lasted 10 seconds longer. Men's and women's restrooms suck anyway. Unisex toilet + teaching men not to be assholes would be a solution. Anyways, then I asked a mall attendant if I could make a call and she lent me her cell phone, bless her heart. Then I met my uncle in this one restaurant where Colombians are always lining up. I dont understand. The food is like a 5/10. Nothing special. At least there are some vegan options, but they're just so meh. However, my cousin was there with his girlfriend or whatever and I was really happy to see him. Then a friend of my uncle came and we had a really nice evening. And on Friday I was actually in the office for the first time. I prefer not to say where I'm doing my internship, it's still the Internet. It definitely has something to do with German-Colombian cooperation, which is why there are some German and Colombian interns there. Friday was a great day at work. It was really fun and I really like my “boss”. I had my first work lunch with colleagues. That was pretty cool. I suddenly felt so grown up. 2 days ago I was just a kid and now I work and go to work lunches. And I have colleagues. And I work. So that's right. I actually do stuff too. I always thought people just pretended to work. I mean, what are you really doing when you're sitting in front of the computer and "working"? Or in meetings? But you actually do things. I can confirm that now. Lol. Anyway, after work I went out for ice cream with my boss, who is really lovely. And then I ate half a brownie in the evening. And with that, good night. I have to start working now. I'll continue writing tomorrow. Or not, sometimes I forget. I love you so much <3 everyone except Benni (fun, the most)
