11th day - from Vacha to Geisa

Oñemoherakuãva: 13.05.2023

Hello everyone,

Today I covered about 20 km from Vacha to Geisa, marking the second Camino de Santiago of my tour.

From now on, I will be following a white seashell on a blue background. In the coming days, I will be hiking through the Rhön Biosphere Reserve. And I must say, the landscape and nature are truly beautiful!

The quaint town of Geisa is nestled among the gentle hills of the Rhön. I treated myself to a stay at Schloss Geisa. It's not exactly cheap, but the accommodation is really nice.

By the way, something went wrong when I picked up my key card from the key box :D. I was given the double room of other guests. However, they also had a key card for the room, and as I was about to book my accommodation in Fulda, my room door suddenly opened a bit. A dog's head peered around the door :D. I just exclaimed, 'Hello?'. The couple was probably startled themselves and didn't look around the door, they just said sorry and quickly closed my door. Shortly after, there was a knock on my door. The lady at the reception seemed a bit puzzled when I told her that I'm not Mrs. Soandso. Checking the key card confirmed that I was in the right room. Well, I ended up getting a free room upgrade :D.

By the way, the breakfast was very good. I treated myself to a tiramisu alongside bread rolls and cake!

Regards, Nicole :)
