Mahensar Magic

Our first stop in the Shekawati region is the small village of Mahensar. We stay in the gorgeous Narayan Niwas Castle, our hosts being descendants of the last ruler. The tranquil village holds some of the best fresco paintings of the region. People are friendly and the village kids are preparing for the kite festival. Horse carts, donkey carts and camel carts are still commonly used in this region adding to the magical surroundings.
