We have already demonstrated the incredible fish richness of the Amazon basin in Manaus and at our lodge. But we were also able to catch a small dinner from the water ourselves. Klaus was very successful with 5 specimens and was appointed as a piranheiro! 🤗🐟🎏. To Manuel's great joy, Klaus also caught a matrinxha and a monkeyfish! Our boatman was allowed to bring this beautiful catch to his family and we were content with small, crispy piranhas 😉 that were grilled for us on the houseboat of the retailer with a bar. Unfortunately, we didn't want to spoil the fun for Bibi and Manuel by entering the water with the pink dolphins. We left this show to a group of young Brazilians; we felt sorry for the fed and showcased animals, and the hustle and bustle of humans and animals above and below the water was also somewhat frightening. Nevertheless, we were very impressed to get so close to these intelligent and graceful creatures. Like the entire Amazon cosmos, they are greatly affected by climate change and already register the slightest changes in their environment.
