We reached Gibraltar after a relatively short drive. Because it is an English territory, the COVID regulations here were much more relaxed and masks were readily available. We cycled around the peninsula, which felt very crowded and had a wild coastline. During a boat trip, we had the opportunity to observe dolphins for over an hour as they swam curiously towards the boat and played with their young.

Next, we drove inland to El Chorro via Ronda, a city built on a cliff and formerly a Moorish city from the 15th century. Besides climbing, we were fascinated by the famous "Caminito del Rey". We were hoping to get two of the 50 tickets that are sold to the first visitors in the morning (several days were already fully booked in advance). It was impressive how the path winds through the gorge.

Next stop: Benidorm. We generally try to avoid heavily touristy destinations, but this place has a certain charm in the off-season with its modern buildings and beautiful beach promenade, especially when enjoying a drink or delicious coffee and cake while viewing the "skyline" from the sea.

After that, it was time for more sports. In very low temperatures (we were no longer accustomed to temperatures below 10 degrees), we climbed in the impressive surroundings of Siurana.

Back at the sea in Tarragona, we were once again amazed by the magnificent buildings that the Romans (or rather their slaves) built 2000 years ago.

Meanwhile, the last week had begun, and we drove longer stages (mostly on highways for the first time) towards Switzerland. We spent the nights right by the sea, first in Argelès-sur-Mer, where we swam in the sea for the last time on December 1st, and then in Saintes-Marie-de-la-Mer, where we had our last coffee by the sea.

Half a day later, our camper was covered in 10 cm of snow in a parking lot in Annecy, with the heating turned on.

On Friday, December 3rd, we arrived safely in Münsingen.

Facts: We covered 8,800 km in 91 days. We spent 46 nights on free parking lots. The fees for the remaining nights at camper sites or campgrounds equated to about 4 nights in a mid-range hotel. Approximately 270 Lindt chocolate truffles sweetened our morning coffee in bed.

But the most important things were the unforgettable impressions and experiences, as well as the spontaneous decisions about where to go. We thoroughly enjoyed these carefree holidays as a couple on four wheels and are grateful that we returned safely to Switzerland 😍.

Thank you for following our journey 🤗.
