29.01.2020 Auckland, Mt. Eden

Oh my god, we have only passed by Auckland so far and didn't like this city.

Apart from that, we are more of nature lovers anyway..

Well, we thought the city would be a good reason to check into a hostel, because the next free camping site is 70 km away, in Onewhero.

The place is great, there are cold showers, toilets, Wi-Fi, a grassy area, and a place to wash dishes. However, it doesn't make sense to drive 70 km back and forth every day just to have been in the city.

Since we have only paid for accommodation 3 times since we have been in New Zealand, we treated ourselves to our own room with a private bathroom at the hostel.

The night can only be pleasant, right?

Wrong.. It was too warm, no air conditioning. Then we opened the window and had about 1000 mosquitoes in the room.

At around 3 am, the first drunks came in and started shouting in the hallway, we haven't had such a terrible night in a long time.

Other than that, we can't say much about Auckland, for us it's just like any other city.

Oh, one thing. We visited Mt. Eden, this volcanic crater is almost in the middle of the city and it was pretty impressive.
