DAY 3 ST. VINCENT

St. Vincent and the Grenadines is a collection of islands with a population of 110,000 and a popular sailing area. Discovered by Columbus in 1498, the island group was a British colony until independence in 1969, where the British king remains the head of state to this day. The cruise port is located in the capital city of Kingston.

Planning: Today, contrary to our usual attitude, we did it.....we booked a trip through AIDA! We are going to take a ferry to the island of Bequia, to the main town of Port Elizabeth! We wanted to make sure that our ship waits for us, which is guaranteed when booking through AIDA!

The first impression was not so promising - denser clouds over the mountains! But half an hour later, after breakfast, it looked great again! At 9 o'clock, together with many others, we boarded the ferry and the bumpy crossing began. The usual trick in tourist areas....the walk and the trail are closed in case of rain and you should take a taxi, which many have followed - we didn't! After an hour's crossing

we arrived in Port Elizabeth and walked along the sea on the Belmont Walkway, Belmont Boardwalk and Princess Margaret Trail to the beautiful Princess Margaret Beach to Lower Bay Beach! Beautiful and no sign of storm damage! After a few hours on the beach, surprised by the Caribbean rain!

Then the 'daily' program....cappuccino and beer in the bar at the back, dinner. Cocktail with live music and then a few rounds of dancing at the pool bar during alpenglow!
