From Sydney to Adelaide...

Oñemoherakuãva: 03.10.2018

Today I am leaving the 4.5 million inhabitant metropolis Sydney and heading to Adelaide, which is much smaller with just under 1.2 million inhabitants than Sydney, but is known as a cultural center.

The national airport in Sydney is really modern, lots of shops - it actually looks like an international terminal, only much quieter than in Europe or the USA. In the furthest corner I find the new Mustang 2019 - even if the color is unusual...

My plane takes off around noon - today Sydney is a bit grey...

The grey sky doesn't clear up over Adelaide either - but what stands out from the plane is how green - compared to Sydney - the surroundings of Adelaide are...

I check into my room at the Mayflower Hotel, which is pretty much in the center, but first I need a drink...

The recommendation I receive is very good. You would never find the 2KW Roof Top Bar, but the view is fantastic and the bar is really appealing (I can only recommend it ;-))

Afterwards, I take a short bus tour of the city - but Adelaide is absolutely no comparison to Sydney in my opinion. Besides the certainly very nice cultural opportunities, I don't necessarily think you have to see Adelaide - but I have to say: my trip here is for the purpose of going on a guided tour to the Barossa Valley tomorrow - one of THE wine regions in Australia... Of course including visits to several wineries and tastings... :-)

But the evening ends very positively - I find a small cozy Italian restaurant with excellent food and a fine red wine...

I have a nightcap at the Roof Top Bar of my hotel and am looking forward to a great day tomorrow in the wineries of the Barossa Valley...
