It’s bitterly cold tonight. But as an experienced camper, I am prepared for just about anything.

I fill my hot water bottle in no time and my sleeping area, consisting of a sleeping pad, air mattress, blanket, sleeping bag, and comforter, is perfectly set up. Plus, I’m wearing sexy knitted socks.

Still, I can't find sleep tonight. We have a full moon.😩

Waking up tired around 9:00 AM, I still jump into the icy Baltic Sea to shower off afterward.

To warm up, I don’t want to have my breakfast outside but spontaneously drive to Greifswald.🚗

I choose the coffee roastery ☕️ at the market. It’s already noon, but the first coffee, no matter what time, always tastes the best. Afterwards, I go postcard shopping 📮. In the end, I buy 10 cards that need to be sent. I also buy some fresh vegetables from the market and stroll through the shops without buying anything. No, that’s not true. I buy a quirky kitchen calendar for 2025. After all, this year is already twice as old as the last piece will be by the end.

Now for an ice cream, I think, and head to the “Eiskontor”.🍦🍧

I’ll get a strawberry sundae that I thoroughly enjoy.

I feel drawn to the arboretum. A botanical garden. Here you can find various, mostly rare plants 🌴🌲 sorted by continents, preserved for science and research.

An arboretum can also be referred to as “a place for plants”.

In the middle, a beautiful pond with water lilies. Here we would sit as kids with our grandma 👵 and sought cooling in the shade of the trees 🌳 when summers were hot.

Before I head back to the campsite, I want to take one last look from the Ryck with its drawbridge.

In the end, I enjoy a delicious little plaice🐟 with a nice big beer 🍺 at “Wieck 05”, a relatively inexpensive and simple inn with a view of the harbor.

When I arrive at my place in Karlshagen after just an hour, a surprise awaits me.😳😀

On the camping table lies a sweet treat and a pack of nuts.🧁
