After today's two dives, we want to explore the island further. Since Tim and Suse have not been to Kelingking Beach yet, that is our first destination. I am going a little way down with both of them, which is more than enough exhausting. After my reports from the last descent and ascent, no one really wanted to experience that. Jan waits in a bar with enough safety distance to the cliff. Sitting comfortably with a coconut in his hand, he smiles at Suse and me. We are red-faced, sweating, and exhausted. Next stop is the Turtle Beach View Point. We drive a bit too far, but find an even more beautiful view. Even Tim is brave here and lets the drone fly. Since we have driven a few kilometers off-road here, we decide to go back to more populated places for the sunset. Suse and I find an oversized bird's nest and of course have to sit in it. After a few failed 'chirping attempts', we give up the birdlife. We are given bananas by beach vendors and are happy. However, only for a few minutes, then they are stolen from us by monkeys. :(
In the dark, we go back through the jungle. Once again, it feels like we have every insect on the island in our faces. When I get home, it's my first time at the Night Market. There are about 10 food stalls run by locals and they offer all sorts of local dishes. For dessert, there is Martabak! A mixture of pancakes (no, not Berliners) & waffles, with lots of chocolate.
