After a short flight on the same small plane (I counted: only 45 passengers got off 😀), we landed back in Miami on Friday afternoon. The exit was delayed a bit as there were a few flashes of lightning in the sky. A little later than planned (and strengthened by a quick stop at Taco Bell), we were able to pick up our car at National Car at the airport. Out of all my car rental experiences (a total of 5), this one was the shortest (in fact, I didn't have to wait at all 😁) and everything went smoothly. I quickly liked the car, a Chevrolet Malibu. After about an hour, we reached the city of Fort Lauderdale. Our goal was a craft store, a shoe store, a makeup store, a supermarket, and an outlet department store. Luckily, there was also a Chipotle restaurant, because after such an eventful day (considering: we did nothing for a week beforehand!!), I was very hungry. Chipotle has the best and most affordable Mexican food....yummy!
It was already dark when we checked in at the Elita Hotel. It made a good impression at first sight, it is well located, and the room is spacious. However, you can hear the other hotel guests very well. Fortunately, we were so tired that we could sleep quickly.
On Saturday, we drove to the large Sawgrass Mills outlet center, where we had already been in 2014. It was a 22km or about 40 minutes drive away. First, we had breakfast at the Cheesecake Factory, which was the first highlight. Then we separated and agreed to meet again about 7 hours later at the Cheesecake Factory. The seven hours were just enough time to visit some stores - this shopping mall is simplyuuuuuugely incredible!!
Of course, we treated ourselves to a cheesecake 😀 A thoroughly successful day!
