Generally, the first three things that come to our minds when we think of Sweden are Ikea, Volvo and ABBA. But Sweden has much more to offer than just that. Along its fifty islands, dense forests, beautiful lakes, and snow-capped mountains, Sweden has an exciting history. But there are a few things you should know when traveling to Sweden.
· You should see the northern lights. But only if you can handle the frosty winter wonderland that Sweden turns into. If you want to see the midnight sun or just take a stroll through the city on a long, warm afternoon, you should go during summer.
· Although you can't drink in public, Swedish people really like to party. But be careful because when Scandinavian people drink, they like to get naked. Just saying.
· You must try Swedish food. No matter if it's Filmjölk, Piggelin, Dammsugare, or Surströmming. Although Surströmming makes non-natives vomit (but hey, that's all part of the Swedish experience, right?).
· You should consider listening to some famous Swedish musicians, since most bands let their history of Vikings flow into the tune of their music. If you're not into rough music like Sabaton, Amon Amarth, and Opeth, you'll be just fine with Abba, Avicii, and Basshunter.
But most importantly: Enjoy your trip to Sweden!
Farväl!
