After we are over the dam, we drove towards Friesland. Originally we had planned to circumnavigate the IJselmeer but in mid-September there are still masses of tourists there.
So it was a few kilometers east along the coast until we checked in at Zwarte Haan. A typical and pretty parking space just behind the dike, directly adjacent to a tourist restaurant. Unfortunately, you cannot go to the sea here, but only walk or cycle on the dike, because it is a nature reserve. Like almost the entire northern coast of the Netherlands in the direction of Germany.
We really like Friesland itself. Here you actually get more rest than in the tourist hotspots.
After the beautiful sunset and a wonderfully quiet night, we decided to drive a little further today. This time on a farm by a small canal. And here we are really excited. It's quiet and peaceful. Around us bird sanctuary and flat land. We got a spot right on the canal including the jetty.
Since everything here is adapted to nature conservation and bird protection, no street lamps or other lamps are allowed to be on at night. As a result, you get a magnificent view of the stars here. Unfortunately, they are really difficult to photograph with a cell phone
