In late April to May, the blooming cotton grass enchants the Pietzmoor near Schneverdingen. Countless white spots adorn the bog, yellow butterflies fly around carefree. An adder basks in the sun right in the middle of the boardwalk.
Peace. As much as you want.
The Pietzmoor is the largest moor in the Lüneburg Heath. 5 km-long wooden walkways lead through the untouched and soothing landscape with small lakes and lots of greenery.
The best place to park is at the Hotel Schäferhof. From there you can start on a walkway immediately after a short path. And enjoy.
If you still have energy, you can take a little hike on the Heidschnuckenweg afterwards. For this, you drive back from the Hotel Schäferhof once across the street to the other parking lot. You have the agony of choice. Heidepark Schneverdingen or Silvestersee or or or.
I simply enjoyed a few more meters on the Heidschnuckenweg of the Lüneburg Heath with its feeling of peace and security.
