2022-May-The modern Bordeaux with the Cite du Vin

Publicado: 10.05.2022

Bordeaux has managed to become a wonderful mix of old and new. From the perspective of the historic center, you can stroll along the Garonne to the modern district of Bacalan. But wait, isn't the old port located in Bacalan? That's right. Many new residential and commercial properties have been built around a few remnants of the old port facility.

We didn't choose our hotel in this part of the city for nothing. Everything is more spacious here and the buildings are modern.

So is the futuristic-looking building Cite du Vin. And not only the construction is unusual, but also the layout of the 'museum' is unusual and directly innovative.

In the interactive exhibition, you can meet winemakers, learn all about the history of wine, and taste a wine in the end.

Only questionably, in times of Corona, I personally found the possible smell samples using scent funnels, in which everyone sticks their nose, I found questionable. We simply left them out.

But we were also the only ones around wearing masks.

By the way, the price of 21 euros also includes a mobile phone with a headset. So everyone can listen to everything in their own language. And the wine at the end comes with a panoramic view from the 9th floor!

Now, since we have thoroughly dealt with the wine, let's move on to another very large (!) highlight in the Bacalan district.

Read here everything about the legendary submarine bunker and what has become of it.
