Koh Ta Kiev

Publicado: 12.12.2022

We took a boat from the mainland to our first island, Koh Ta Kiev, which was recommended to us by other travelers.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by a cozy open treehouse hostel in the middle of pure nature. We can highly recommend the Kactus Hidden tree-house Resort! However, be aware that everything is kept very natural, so it's normal to shower with frogs and insects, have rats in the treehouse that chew through your backpack, or have a big spider on the towel you use to wipe your face, right in front of you. We spent the next few days in complete relaxation, enjoying the peace, the empty beach, and the clear sea. Occasionally, there was a light rain, but it wasn't a big deal. In the evenings, we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere in the treehouse or by the campfire (with more or less successful attempts at playing a didgeridoo), and at night, we were able to go swimming in the glowing plankton in the sea, thanks to the conveniently positioned moon! It was a dream-like experience that is hard to put into words. One day, Jule, Pauli, and Anna took an adventurous path through the jungle to a fishing village on the other side of the island, while Emilie searched her book, which she found in the bookshelf there, on the beach. Finally, we took the boat back to the mainland, where we embarked on our journey to the next island, Koh Rong.

We took a boat back to the mainland. Unfortunately, the water was very high, so we had to safely transport our luggage onto the boat and then climb onto the boat in water up to our thighs.
