7th September - Budapest - Day 1

So. Third country, third currency. Forint is the currency here. A thousand of them is about three euros; that's why there are smaller units as well.

But let's talk about Budapest. The campsite is located south of the Danube, in Pest, the flat part. To the south and east, the steppe extends, which in earlier times was often visited by Mongolian horse-riding tribes on their conquests.

When it comes to the architectural structure, Budapest is a modern city. At least if you look at it from the beginning of the twentieth century. Because back then, under Austrian administration, practically the entire cityscape was shaped. If you cover your ears, you might think you're in Vienna. The Danube is wider, the bridges are bigger, the churches are smaller, but the buildings....
