17/03/2023 - St. Patrick's Day

Yesterday in Ireland it was St. Patrick's Day and we went to the parade in Cork. The parade started at 1:00 pm, we arrived very early and walked around Cork a bit and got something to eat because we thought it would get crowded later. I couldn't decide at first which one to get, but I wanted something with fruits, it was really delicious and I was full all day, but the strawberries somehow tasted like nail polish remover😂. After chatting for a while, we started walking so we could find a good spot. And we did, there were metal stands, don't know why, but we sat/stood there and the parade started around 1:05 pm. There were quite a lot of people, but I was expecting a bit more. At the beginning, a few motorcycles came, then there was nothing for 15 minutes, then the first marching band came, followed by a huge group from Florida (with the crocodile flags), I don't know how they brought so many people, probably two planes full, and another marching band from Colorado, then there were many clubs and countries, I was waiting for Germany the whole time but it didn't come. Finja eventually sat down on the ground under Sarah because she couldn't stand anymore😂, later someone came, I think he was supposed to portray Mozart, he stopped in front of us on his vehicle, pointed at Finja and Belinda (who joined Finja) and was like: why, why? The parade lasted almost 3 hours and in the end, we didn't feel like it anymore, most of our group took the train back at 4:55 pm as usual, Sarah and I took the later train at 6:30 pm, don't know why😂 after taking the others to the train, we walked around the area strangely, Sarah suddenly wanted to climb a stupid hill, we were of course very thrilled when it turned out to be a dead end and we had to turn around.

On Thursday we also had a day off and we went to Cork, there 2 of our friends (I'm not saying who (not me)) bought 2 small bottles of vodka, on Friday they got a huge bottle of Fanta, poured the 2 bottles of vodka into it and then shared and drank the whole bottle, they were really funny and annoying afterwards, but yeah, later one of them made a 'marriage proposal' to the other, which was really funny.

I have to say it was a nice day even though it was cloudy all the time and it rained on and off.

Less than 2 weeks until I fly home🤗 exactly 12 days, in two weeks from today I am already home.
