Day 28 – Bye Yoshi – hello Pikachu

Publicado: 23.01.2023

Today is the last time we prepare our breakfast in Yoshi. However, we pack all our stuff into our backpacks beforehand and do the major cleaning. That all goes quickly, as we didn't need some things like the built-in shower. Except for the small freezer, there is some ice left. But with a pocket knife and spoon, it will be gone soon.

During breakfast, we empty almost all our supplies. Only spices, vinegar, and oil are left. The planning is going well. Now it's time for the last ride. On the way, we just need to fill up the LPG of the gas cylinder and refuel. Refueling goes smoothly, but filling the gas becomes an unsolvable task. Three (actually refillable) gas stations can't help us; an outdoor shop would do it, but they don't have gas anymore, and the gas specialist at 'BOC Gas & Gear' tells us that it's no longer done nowadays due to the partly old gas bottles. Well done. Therefore, we just return Yoshi as it is.

But before we do that, we rush to the city center to our Airbnb. Better drop off all our luggage there and then return Yoshi. Check-in goes smoothly, and we move into our Pokemon room. Pikachu is in da House :) Now we drive the remaining 4km straight to the drop off station.

Now it's bye Yoshi - well driven without major problems (tires, engine, etc.). Only minor things have kept us busy: smoke alarm > low battery; CO detector > low battery; seatbelt > loose connection; right parking light > defect (but it works again when returning..?!). In the end, the gas: The woman is gracious to us and waives the refilling due to the defects and the purchased replacement batteries. Much ado about nothing, but it doesn't matter. Probably it had to be like that.

We take the bus back to the center and stroll through the city. The first impression is great, and we are excited to explore some shops and find some coffee spots. With a short stop at our Airbnb, we can fully wash our laundry and hang it on the open roof. That has to be done as well. Now it's time to eat. There hasn't been much today. We find something in a street full of restaurants and take the first one. Today we have burgers with a variation of (sweet) potatoes and zucchini. Yummm.
