Nakhon Ratchasima

Publicado: 31.12.2016

So let's get out of Bangkok again and take a 7-hour bus ride north. Nakhon Ratchasima, near the border of Laos.

We finally arrived at 4 am in the morning, and the bus from Bangkok was very comfortable. Sleeping seats, video, Wi-Fi, massage seats!

Then we had to take another hour on a less comfortable bus. 5 degrees Celsius, no longer 35 degrees hot in the north!

No doors on the bus, everything open, packed with people, and the cold wind blew around your ears!

Then we arrived, Anan's uncle picked us up from the marketplace with the ITAN Tuk Tuk, a very cool vehicle, but it's only 5 degrees!!!

By the way, the marketplace was full of people at 5:00 am!

We took another 20 minutes on the ITAN to Anan's family, on very bumpy roads :-)

The sisters, children, grandma, aunts, uncles, and who knows what else were all waiting for us at 5:00 in the morning and cooked for us!!! Everyone had just woken up. Incredible!!

The family lives in the countryside and are simple rice farmers. They either sleep outside or in the wooden house. I could only stand for 1 more hour before I had to go to sleep urgently. So into the wooden house, on the floor, on the mat, and under a mosquito net! I have been practicing yoga for 9 years, so it didn't bother me. :-P

When I woke up again, the sun had already risen, it was warm outside again, and everything hurt!!!

No one went to sleep, more friends came, and they continued cooking! I had to wake up again...

This continued for the next 2 days, cooking, eating, friends, and the whole family coming to visit.

In between, the uncle showed me all the rice fields that the family works on. And I got to drive this insanely cool ITAN Tuk Tuk!!

To be continued!!
