Something is going wrong here.

Julien was down because of the conditions here. The bosses are, at least to me so far, nice and helpful. I didn't know what to believe. Today he already contacted Fairwork, the responsible organization for compliance with labor rights and correct payment in Australia.

The next day I did the same. We should talk to the boss in person. So we did that in the evening. He made excuses and said the accountant had everything to do with the payment. He only forwards the number of hours worked.

The next day the accountant was contacted. He promised to make the payment and correct it. It only affected me to a small extent. The others did not receive a higher hourly rate for overtime worked, although it was introduced on January 1, 2018. And a supposedly well-known accountant with a good reputation didn't know this? Hard to believe.

On one of the following days, during a shift, I heard the boss reprimanding one of the colleagues in a harsh tone. I only heard him respond that she was speaking to him in a cheeky tone. Later when I asked him what had happened, he told me the story. Yes, he apparently did something wrong, but it could have happened to any of us since we were not informed about it. The boss apparently justified the harsh manner of speaking by saying he belongs to a different culture. Yes, he has Indonesian roots, so what? That's just racist.

Rode to the river on my day off with the bike. Then back to the city to the pool for lunch. Somehow, the key was lost, but I put it in the backpack, didn't I? Searched the paths. In the restaurant and around and in the pool. Asked the staff. Nothing. Until I eventually looked into a compartment in the backpack that I never use. But that's exactly where it fell. Embarrassing. But at least it wasn't lost.
